Inventor Jerome Case founded the company of CASE in Racine, when he started the building of threshing equipment. Later the business gained recognition internationally as the first maker of steam engines for its agricultural use. In time, the company grew to become the biggest maker of steam engines within the globe.
Case had established themselves in the construction machine business by 1912. They became a producer of road building machinery including steam rollers and road graders. Case grew their construction machinery business through various acquisitions, starting with the American Tractor Corporation during the year 1957. Case had expanded their business by the mid-1990s to become the top maker of medium-sized to light-sized construction equipment.
Case merged with the company New Holland during the year 1999 and together they became CNH Global. This business became responsible for advertising some of the world's top brands of agricultural and construction machines.
Case has been responsible for a lot of industry firsts, while continuing to this day to take a role creating new solutions and products for the materials handling industry.
